Sonic Buy One Get One Free BOGO Milkshakes

We saw the ad on TV for the free milkshakes at Sonic, so even though the nearest one is like 26 miles away, we took a nice country drive on our little Geo Metro Convertible, and went to check them out.

I had chocolate, and my wife had Oreo Cookie.

They were $2.99 each, and the Oreos added was 50 cents more.

The 2nd one was free as advertised.

I like the drive-in concept, and I try to go to local Mom and Pop places, so for a chain they are good.

We ate there last month, had burgers, fries, onion rings, they were good as expected.

The prices seem a little much, but that is probably because I am an old fart and everything should still be 99 cents, yikes. Recommended - 4 stars on the Diner Scale.

A great new diner in northest Ohio, from the looks of the food, and seeing the other hungry eaters, all was well.

There is a real counter, booths, tables, all brand new fresh out of the 50's.

I am sure this will be a car cruise destination.

There is a walk-up window, but most of the time you order inside.

Daily specials are just chalking on over the counter window.

We stopped in for a Properly poured Guiness... and Beef Stew in a bread bowl, and BBQ chicken wings. Nice atmoshere and good eats, 5 stars on the diner scale.

Tom & Jerry's Fish Fry Dinner, I got it 'to go' as I was not in a cooking at home mood. 2 good sized breaded fish portions, choice of fries (I got waffle) good cole slaw & tarter sauce, at $8.75 it is hard to beat. Here is their web page blog, the full menu is listed. For those with a GPS: 14530 N. Cheshire St. Burton, OH 44021 Right on main street, in the summer they host the Wednesday Car cruise. There are 2 dining rooms that have a great fun 1950's decor. Marty's Diner rating 4 stars.

Fajitas chicken and steak yummy.

Earlier in the day I was reading the Adventures of Tioga and George, and he had a pic of pollo asada that he bought from a roadside stand in Mexico. So, a few hours later after grocery shopping I was across the street from a Mexican restaurant, and thought, great, I will get the same thing there.

No such luck. I guess I had forgotten that Mexican restaurants in the USA are Americanized and like to appeal to the masses, so I did not get any pollo asada.

BUT, I did have some very tasty fajitas, so all was well, plentiful portion, could have easily served 2. 4 stars

Review: Jefferson Diner in Ashtabula County NE Ohio

Friday night I had the AYCE Fish Fry great w/ perfect cole slaw, choice of potato (I had baked) and a hush puppy, at $8.95 it was quite the bargain (I had 6 pieces of fish).

My wife had the homemade Lasagna with a great big salad and garlic bread it was $8.95 as well, then we split a huge strawberry shortcake that had a homemade bisquit in it and ice cream, very tasty.

So if you travel in Ashtabula County stop in the town of Jefferson for Great Food and Huge portions. The decor is straight out of the fifties, and the service is top notch.
